What’s a moment when a stranger completely restored your faith in people?
As a new traveler for the first time leaving America, I arrived in the beautiful and blessed city of Madinah feeling overwhelmingly grateful for the opportunity. On my first visit to the massive holy masjid of the Prophet (may peace and blessings be upon him) you can feel disoriented and a bit lost with thousands of pilgrims arriving also. With physical disabilities I was trying to move slowly. There were so many beautiful people offering assistance to me throughout my whole experience. It made me feel loved, protected, and guided in a way that I cannot describe. There was a language barrier, but this did not matter. Months later, alhamdulillah I am still here and that feeling of belonging is still with me! It’s amazing to know that my Muslim brothers and sisters want for you what they want for themselves. I didn’t feel that back home. Thank you Allah.
