[6/6, 4:50 PM] Saddiqua Muhammad Black: Explanation for Learners about HB pencil basics: It’s a balanced pencil — not too hard, not too soft.
That means it can make both light and dark tones depending on how you press.
Light shading: Use gentle strokes and barely touch the paper. This creates a soft, airy tone like sunlight underwater.
Medium shading: Add a little pressure and overlap strokes to deepen the tone.
Dark shading: Press firmly and layer your graphite slowly — the tone will grow richer and smoother.
