1. Choosing the Teacher:
It is necessary that the teacher be someone who adheres to the Sunnah, is known for following the correct methodology of the Salaf (pious predecessors), and walks upon their path. He should spread their knowledge, clarify their beliefs, and make their virtues known to the people.
When choosing a teacher, it is important to prioritize someone who is a follower of the book and the Sunnah.
2. Choosing the Book:
The choice of the book should align with the methodology and understanding of the Salaf.
3. Sources of Evidence:
The student of knowledge must rely heavily on these sources:
• The Sunnah of the Prophet (sallaAllahu alayhi wa sallam).
• The Book of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic.
• Consensus (Ijma’) that is connected to the Book and the Sunnah, and nothing opposes it.
