What is the Scientific Method, and is it the only credible source of knowledge and truth?
Science—(sciens, scio means “to know”)—is any system of knowledge that is concerned with the physical world and its phenomena and which entails unbiased observations and systematic experimentation.
“For a long time, most practicing scientists shared the belief that the set of step-by-step procedures to find truth and called the Scientific Method was invented in the West. In fact, this belief is totally wrong. The Scientific Method was invented by an Arab, Ibn al-Haytham or (its Latinized version) Alhacen, who lived in the Islamic Golden Age between 965 and 1040 (Alhacen 2013.) The West did not adopt the Scientific Method until the post-renaissance or early modem period. And then wrongly attributed its invention to Galileo Galilee, Rene Descartes, Robert Boyle and others.” (Gilbert Ling, “What is Life Answered”, 2013, p. 15.)
